There comes a time in life when you have to let go of all the pointless drama & the people who create it, and surround yourself with people who make you laugh so hard that you forget the bad and focus solely on the good. After all, life is too short to be anything but happy.

The first mouse is not always Right.

He looks around, making sure not to make a sound,
He scurries across the floor, his little feet racing towards the door.
Behind this door lies his prize, a piece of cheese just waiting for him to arrive.
But Wait!
A cat jumps in front of him
Scaring the mouse away, while the cat yet is discouraged, is determined to catch his prey.
The mouse waits for the break of dawn, and runs across the floor, determined to try to get the cheese, just once more.
He scurries as fast as he can under the crack of the door, and glances across the room, for what he sees that awaits him is not sudden doom.
A yellow medium sharp piece of cheddar cheese is his golden prize.
He carefully takes it off of the trap, for it will surely make the other mice rise.
He scurries back into his hole to boast and brag,
But while he is squeaking, the cat looks at him and thinks he’s playing tag ;).

I am Hannah, The Devi'ls Arithmetic

So, Here's the rundown. For literature we are reading a book called The Devil's Arithmetic. This book is about the Holocaust. I wanted to write a poem about the main character, Hannah.

I am fearless, and determined.
I wonder if I will die in the camps.
I hear the screams of all of the other Jews in the camps.
I see flashes of my life, back in New Rochelle.
I want to get out of the camps, and be back home.
I dream of my life back home.
I worry that I will be stuck in these camps until the day I die.
I am Hannah, strong and brave.
